Something I always found weird about the Prometheans' hardlight blades: why the metal bits along the blade? I mean, I doubt they're needed to emit the blade since the Forerunners could build way more complex machinery out of hard light without any visible emitters; neither do the technologically inferior Covenant need any extra metal pieces on their energy swords. If anything, they'd just get in the way if you need to slice through something. Maybe they're just decorative and non-solid? IDK, I don't think 343i's artists really thought this through.
